Katy Pony Baseball

- It's a whole NEW Ballgame!

Welcome. Our organization is celebrating its 21st year as Katy's finest youth baseball program. We are a registered non-profit organization dedicated to provide the best youth baseball experience possible.

Our players range in age from 4 to 16. We offer two types of league play -- Regular League is more recreational and is designed for individuals; Open League is more competitive and is designed for independent teams.

Registration is held in January for the Spring season and August for the Fall season. Please take a few minutes to look around our website for more information, or feel free to contact one of our volunteer board members ... we look forward to seeing you at the fields!

President - Brian Sosebee, bcsosebee@att.net
VP Open League - Daleno Johnson, katyowls@gmail.com
Facility / Tournament Director - Harold Bennett, hbenkaty@aol.com

For specific requests, please email us at playball@katyponybaseball.org

Katy Open League and Tournament News Update

All Open League and Tournament teams need to be aware that like other area leagues, Katy Pony Baseball has decided to opt from USSSA to Nations Baseball for our Open League and Tournament play. Nations Baseball (www.nationsbaseball.com) is a baseball organization new to Texas and the rest of the nation. We recently attended the state convention and are excited about the design and the goals of the Nations Baseball organization. We anticipate that a large majority of leagues in the Houston area, especially the leagues that we most associate with, are in the process of affiliating with Nations Baseball. Due to this shared participation we anticipate that Nations Baseball will become the dominant affiliation in our area, the state, and the nation.

Ron Mathis will be leading the Texas affiliation of Nations Baseball. The structure of Nations Baseball will mirror what we have grown accustomed to for our select baseball program, but with more user-friendly features and improved accountability which will lead to quality baseball for our teams and organizations.

Teams planning to participate in our Open League or Tournaments will need to proceed by registering their team with Nations Baseball on their website (see above). All information about Nations Baseball and the registration process is on their website. This is an easy process but should anyone need help, please let us know and we can assist.

When you register your team with Nations, teams will also receive insurance for the entire Fall 2008 and Spring 2009 season (August 1, 2008 to July 31, 2009). However, for those teams that have insurance through the end of 2008, a prorated coverage is available for the period of January 1, 2009 to July 31, 2009.

Sponsors Needed

We are looking for sponsors to help fund the exciting plans we have for the future of Katy Pony Baseball. If you are interested or know of a company or individual interested in sponsoring our league, please contact Harold Bennett or Brian Sosebee at 281-371-0887 for further details ... or click on the headline above for more information. Contributions are tax deductible and are needed to help our league.
